Here's a collection of science communication things I've done in the past.

Famelab

The Famelab competition has been called "pop idols for scientists". It's an international science communication competition where you have 3 minutes to talk about any science topic to the general public.

2013 was the first time Famelab was run in South Africa. The first video is my talk about exoplanets at the national final at Scifest in Grahamstown.

After making it through the South African final, I joined 20 other participants from all around the world at the international final at the Cheltenham Science Festival, where I spoke of our cosmic origins in quantum fluctuations at the dawn of time.

Cosmo Girl on SAFM

This is a short radio show series I did with Nancy Richards on the SAFM Enviro Show in 2013. This was back before I was married when my surname was Knights!

Young Science Communicators Competition

This is the radio show I wrote and produced (with MFM) as part of the SAASTA Young Science Communicators Competition. It's a dramatised version of the Great Debate, in which scientists Curtis and Shapley debated the size and nature of the Universe we live in.

And this is a fun video I also entered into the competition. It's a kind of trailer for SKA South Africa (although it is not in any way affiliated with the official SKA organisation).
